Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal in memory of his beloved wife, who died just after giving birth to their 14th child.

The architecture of the Taj Mahal is marvelous. It has to be the one, after all, and it is one of the seven wonders of the world. Coming to the main point, why shouldn't you open the door of the Taj Mahal?

There are numerous sealed rooms in the basement of the Taj Mahal, and no one is allowed to enter. There are many theories explaining the reason for not opening the door of these rooms.

One of the most widely accepted theories which make logical sense is a scientific one.

The sealed chambers are made up of marbles, which can transform into calcium carbonate if exposed to carbon dioxide. In reaction, the marble will deteriorate and crumble down; that is why the chambers are sealed and kept out of the public eye. If too much CO2 gets into the basement, the four towers that surround the Taj Mahal may collapse.
